Microsoft's Graphics App 'Acrylic'
Having been a graphic designer and involved in animation and graphics for TV and web, I have experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and a host of other design applications. I remember back in high school using Photoshop on an old PowerPC when it was still in version 2.5! Now, Microsoft has recently acquired Creature House Expression and is in the process of developing their vector and image editing application codenamed 'Acrylic'. While the usability is not as slick as Photoshop, it could impact design applications on the desktop. I definitely love the fact that you can create and edit vector-based graphics and pixel (or bitmap) images in the same application. The latest pre-release version of Acrylic is available free for download from Microsoft. (Source: BetaNews)
